Snorkeling in Aruba

Snorkeling in Aruba during an 8-day voyage aboard the *Carnival Horizon* was an unforgettable experience—crystal-clear water, vibrant marine life, and the incredible moment a sea turtle glided right up beside me. Moments like this are what travel is all about—soak it in and enjoy life. If you’re ready to create your own memories, I can help you book your next Carnival cruise.

Carnival Cruise Balcony Rooms: Is It Worth It? My Experience at Sea

When I sail with Carnival, I always choose a balcony stateroom. You really can’t go wrong with having your own private space and a breath of fresh ocean air whenever you want it. There’s something special about sitting out on your balcony, stretching out in a chair, maybe even drifting off to sleep as the sound of the waves rolls alongside the ship.

Sitting there with a glass of wine or your favorite drink in hand just makes the moment even better. It’s one of the most relaxing feelings—no stress, no bills, just time to disconnect and be present. The views alone make it worth it, from watching the deep blue sea stretch endlessly ahead to catching stunning sunrises, glowing sunsets, and even the quiet beauty of the ocean under a dark night sky.

From experience, I’ve found that midship balcony rooms on the 7th or 8th deck offer the best balance. You’re far enough from the dining areas and engine spaces to avoid excess noise, making it a quieter, more peaceful place to fully enjoy the experience.

Balcony staterooms do come at a higher price than interior cabins, so it really comes down to what fits your budget—whether that’s an inside room or a room with a window view. That said, once you experience a balcony, it’s hard to go back—it’s just that enjoyable.

The rooms themselves are well-equipped, typically featuring a safe, a small refrigerator, and flexible sleeping arrangements. Depending on the layout, you’ll find queen-size beds that can convert into singles, along with options like pull-out couches or even bunk beds to accommodate additional guests.

The bathrooms are designed with convenience in mind, typically featuring a stand-up shower with adjustable temperature control. On select ships, you’ll also find accessible staterooms with larger bathrooms that provide plenty of space for mobility. For example, on the Carnival Horizon, there are accessible balcony rooms that offer a more open layout, making it easier to move around comfortably. These rooms include a spacious shower and are fully wheelchair-friendly, without sacrificing the comfort or experience of having a private balcony.

To book your cruise, it’s a good idea to speak with your travel agent to see what’s currently available. Once you find the right room, you can usually place a deposit—often around $100—to secure it. This holds your stateroom, whether it’s accessible or standard, and ensures you don’t miss the chance to sail to the destination islands of your choice.

Also with Carnival, you can use your folio or VIFP number to check for discounted rates on future cruises. Over time, this can unlock special offers and reduced pricing based on your sailing history.

If you spend time in the casino, that can also work in your favor. Players often receive targeted promotions and offers for future sailings, sometimes including reduced fares or onboard perks. These incentives can really add up over time, making it more affordable to cruise again with Carnival while enjoying the experience on board.
